Acer Predator 21X is one of the most powerful and arguably the most technically impressive gaming laptops about to hit the market. To get more power, it features two Nvidia GTX 1080s, a stunning 21in curved display, and sports eye tracking technology. Acer Predator 21X is very impressive, but downright expensive gaming products.

Design and Build

It is heavy and looks huge in size. The Predator 21X definitely isn’t lightweight as weight comes with girth. The laptop weighs 8KG and this much heavy weight makes it more of a portable desktop rather than a laptop and it is heavy to carry. According to Acer, it is world-first gaming laptops which features a 21in curved display which looks gorgeous and surprisingly sits flush when you close the laptop. This laptop’s fierce Predator-branded design seems extremely impressive and a dragon decal directly above the keyboard completes its design which may look weird to many of you.

The laptop display appears cool with the matching desktop wallpaper, but if you customize your desktop with your own wallpaper, it’d look a bit out of place. To make users feel that it is indeed a gaming powerhouse, it also features a triangular window above the keyboard which shows off one of the many fans within the laptop.

Features, Specs, and Software

This gaming beast features two Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080s with SLI. This means that you’ll be able to run play any game with the highest graphical quality without any screen tearing or lag. It can power the latest VR headsets like the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and the VR gamers especially, like this flexibility a lot. It allows the VR gamers to use VR in different areas of their own home without relocating and moving a desktop PC complete with display, keyboard, mouse, etc.

The Predator 21X features a seventh generation Intel Core processor, however, it will depend on the specification you choose while buying the laptop. This much power provides users with blisteringly fast response times, even if you are running graphically demanding and processor hungry apps and games. You will hardly experience any lag or stutter during your time with the Predator 21X. The Predator 21X features a stunning a 21in curved display with a resolution of 2560×1080 which are able of displaying a crisp and bright picture. The combination of curvature and high-res display provides a more impressive and immersive experience to the user and it is the key to a great gaming laptop like this.

Right below the display sits Tobii eye-tracking software that tracks your eye movements to accomplish various tasks in-game. The Predator 21X features a beautiful mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches and RGB illumination. The keyboard is convenient to use and also features five macro switches along the left-hand side of the keyboard which you can customise accordingly and use in various games. You will not face overheating problem with the Predator 21X, as the beast features not one, two or three but, five fans to keep the laptop cool and for enhanced cooling, this includes three AeroBlade metal fans. The Acer Predator 21X comes packing Windows 10, and allow for SLI support.

Date and Pricing

You will be likely to see Acer’s tamed beast releasing in the UK and it will start shipping in February 2017 in North America, with an EMEA date of October 2017 set. One thing is for sure that a laptop with eye-tracking technology, a curved display, and two GTX 1080s isn’t going to be cheap. It is expected that it may sell for upwards of £2,000. In US pricing may begin at $8,999, in Europe pricing set to start at €9,999, so it is expected that it may be set to sell in the UK from £9,999.

Acer’s Predator 21X is technically very impressive, boasting a 21in curved display (which are both world firsts) and Tobii eye-tracking software, and two Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics cards. It is a bulky machine and so many technical innovations make this laptop too expensive.
