Like other Mac users, it may had happened with you also that in the process of removing useless files you also have deleted important ones unintentionally and that too permanently from the trash also. Since you’re a Mac user and if you haven’t experienced it, it may happen accidentally or intentionally in future as well; so being a smart user, it’s better to stay prepared for such a situation. Now you’ll be thinking how to recover the lost or deleted file if you haven’t taken back up and they are not in trash.

When you permanently delete some files, it’s not that you delete data, you just loss the access of those file. To recover the lost data when trash is empty, you can try the trash recovery programs because they are very reliable and efficient. There may be plenty of certain and uncertain reasons for data loss so, it’s the high time to know how to recover that. Data recovery applications provide solutions to retrieve text, archives, images, audios, videos, and other documents. You can get back your lost data in a few simple steps which are enumerated below:

  1. Select Recovery Mode for Lost File

Lost file recovery applications can bring back your data from a partition or removable media whether you have emptied from the trash or directly deleted by Command + Delete. Lost file recovery mode is the first option to retrieve deleted files in a few minutes. And if you can’t get back lost files try another mode raw recovery, which will retrieve those files also which were lost long time ago, but it’ll consume bit more time.

  1. Find the Location of Trash

If you’ve partitioned the hard drive disk space, select the drive where you deleted the file and then scan to search the lost one.

  1. Preview and Restore Files from Trash

Once the scan action is completed, all lost files will be listed with the original path regardless of the fact from where you have deleted them. To retrieve data fast, type the name of specific file in the search bar on the top of the list. To recover the required file, preview it to verify the file and quality.

  1. Save the Recovered Documents on Another Partition of Hard Drive Disk

To retrieve the files, click on the recovery option while scanning them and make sure that you don’t save them at the same place where you lost them.

Important Notes:

  1. Don’t download and install any software application at the same location where you lost or deleted files accidentally, because in this case your lost data may be overwritten. So download and install it at different location at different drive.
  2. Before deleting them from trash make sure that they are useless.

Maintain multiple copies of important files to prevent them from accidental deletion.
