Error message code #0, 1003, 0x000 may appear while installing Trend Micro Titanium Security. You may receive the following error message if any issue encounters while installing Trend Micro Titanium program:

  • “Installation Incomplete
  • A problem prevented the installer from completely setting up Trend Micro antivirus. No changes have been made to your computer. Please close any other programs currently open before restarting the installer…
  • Error code: #0, 1003, 0X000″

There may be any of the following reasons which may reflect this installation error:

  • The program is running where a Titanium feature will be installed.
  • The Titanium installer may not able to remove some of or all the files of an previously installed security software.
  • The third party competitor program is not uninstalled completely.
  • A still running Support tool.

Important Note: While performing these troubleshooting steps, you will be asked to restart the system, so it’s recommended to take the print out of the page or add it to your favorites.

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

1. Close the following software programs:

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Outlook Express
  • Windows Mail

2. Uninstall conflicting software using any of the two options:

Important Note: If you continue having issues installing your Titanium program because it keeps detecting other security software, contact the manufacturer’s support and ask for a removal tool.

3. Run the Titanium installer again. 

Step 1: Uninstall Trend Micro program using the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit

Follow the steps given below to uninstall Trend Micro antivirus using the uninstall tool:

  • Download and install the Trend Micro Diagnostic tool and save it to your desktop:
  • Double-click Ti_100_win_en_Tool_UninstallTool_hfb0001.exe.
  • Click on the option Yes when the User Account Control window comes up.
  • Read and accept the License Agreement, and then click on the Next button to proceed further.
  • Click on the Install option.
  • Now click on the option Uninstall software.
  • Type the characters in the field provided and click on the Continue button.

  • Now click on the Uninstall button and let the process complete.

Important Note: As the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit will remove all the files related to Trend Micro from your system which the Control Panel might have missed so you may disregard the Windows notification that says you to use the Control Panel to remove the program.

  • Click on the Yes option to restart the computer.

Important Note: The uninstallation should be complete after the restarting the computer.

Step 2: Run the Trend Micro Titanium Driver Remover Tool

Follow the steps written below to remove all the traces of Trend Micro drivers:

  1. Download the Trend Micro Titanium Driver Remover tool and save it to your desktop.
  2. Extract the file.

Important Note: When prompted for entering a password, type “novirus”.

  1. Open the extracted file and go to applicable bit version.

Important Note: Check that which version of Windows operating system you are using: a 32-bit or 64-bit version.

  1. Run DriverRemover.exe.
  2. Click “Start Fix!” button and let it finish.
  3. Now restart your computer.

Important Note:  After restarting the computer, remove all the traces of the drivers.
